Dear Hilltop House Daycare Families:

I am looking forward to working with you and your children this year and helping them achieve their full potentials. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. We are so excited you will be part of our childcare family this year!

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Katie Buckley, and I am delighted to be your child’s primary caregiver at Hilltop House Daycare. This will be my 4th year working as an early childhood educator and caregiver.

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, e-mail, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

In June 2009, I was conferred with a Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. Through my education at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, I acquired a strong background in early childhood development, psychology, counseling.

My teaching philosophy is shaped by my life’s mission to inspire, invoke change, and continuously seek understanding in others. As an educator, I work tirelessly to ensure that the children (and infants) I encounter walk or crawl away with a renewed sense of purpose and belief in their own abilities.

My interest in early childhood education stems from a genuine desire to help children achieve social success through play-based activities while preparing them for Kindergarten.

Angie Lopez |  Assistant Teacher
Angie enjoys cooking and cleaning. Angie has over 10 years of experience working with children ages 0-5.

Currently, Angie keeps busy at home with her 5-year-old son; in addition is has 4 adult children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves speaking to the children in Spanish. She is helping us provide a bilingual education at Hilltop House.  

Ms. Sara | Assistant Teacher
Our students love spending time with Ms. Sara. Her fun, outgoing personality is contagious. When she’s not working at Hilltop House she loves to spend time with her family and traveling.  Ms. Sara is also bilingual. 

Ms. Sara is married to Ms. Angies brother! 

Ms. Cindy | Assistant Teacher
Ms. Cindy loves playing outside with the Hilltop House students. At home she enjoys to bake and spend time with her family. Ms. Cindy is bilingual.

Ms. Cindy is always will to help as needed. And loves working with our preschool age students. 

Mr. Ryan | Music Teacher
Mr. Ryan is a traveling music man, Hilltop House is lucky to offer “Music Mondays” with Mr Ryan.

He currently works for LAUSD as a supplemental music teacher. He will play the guitar, keyboard and other instruments for the children during his class.
